Company Gearbox Software has brought on developers conference GDC 2017 demonstration of Borderlands 3. Recorded live performance of representatives of the Studio may be the first look at the third part of the series.

The visual style of the Borderlands series stands out among other games of the genre. The developers decided to give their game the way animated films. Moreover, the decoration of this kind requires from the team of special moves, which the team told the conference.

As you can see in the video, the technology renedring Unreal Engine 4 enables you to create dynamic shadows depending on those or other conditions on the planet. The engine is also able to simulate the physics of objects made of different materials in real time, which gives the game a more realistic appearance, creating a mixture of cartoon and realistic graphics.

“The engine allows to create the scene in real time depending on time of day, or perhaps a variety of physical conditions, if we, for example, exploring a new planet. Conditions on the planet may differ, and the sun and the satellites can be different from Pandora’s provisions,” said Pitchford, suggesting that the action of Borderlands 3 can be deployed on other planets.

Officially Borderlands 3 is still not announced. In April last year representatives of the Studio said they were going to take up the game after the release of additions to the game Battleborn. His speech at GDC 2017 Pitchford ended up being promised to present the new game “soon”.
