Scientists from NASA have published six new photos of the largest moon of Saturn – Titan, made in the infrared spectrum. At the moment it is the most detailed images of the object.
Previously, because of the thick atmosphere of the moon was not possible to consider in detail this object in the visible spectrum. And images the infrared spectrum was of poor quality and are clearly visible from the joints, as was done at different times and with different weather conditions on the planet.
But thanks to the Cassini spacecraft for 13 years, was composed of shots from different parts of the mosaic, stress specialists Zagladin all the flaws and joints, getting the most detailed and precise to date map of Titan.
From this collection of photos precisely, it is clear that the moon has a varied surface, with an abundance of geological characteristics. Much of the surface is blue and purple region, which allowed to suggest that the object is present in the water and perhaps even life.
