Astronomers have found a unique cluster of galaxies

The team of Indian astronomers have identified a previously unknown, extremely large supercluster of galaxies located towards the constellation of Pisces.

The shape of the object that called the Saraswati, reminiscent of the wall, extending to 200 MPC.

The supercluster is a chain of galaxies and clusters of galaxies connected by the force of gravity. Saraswati is one of the biggest objects in the Universe – a cluster stretches in space 600 million light years.

“A long-popular model of evolution of the Universe predicts that relatively small structures, such as galaxies, are collected in larger structures. Most forms of this model does not predict the existence of large structures such as Saraswati. The discovery of these extremely large structures, thus forcing astronomers to rethink popular theories about how the universe got its current forms,” said the authors of the opening.

The mass of the Sarasvati can be 20 quadrillion times the mass of our Sun. In a huge star cluster includes 43 galaxy with an average size of about 250 thousand light-years each. It is assumed that the object appeared about four billion years ago.
