Astronomers have discovered a “graveyard” of dead stars

The specialists of Columbia University talked about where is the cemetery for dead stars.

As you know, the heavenly bodies have their own life cycle, and, like living organisms, they at some point “die.”

Stars are formed are in the stage of development and die. In some cases, they find their death in black holes, in other cases, turn to dust in a collision with a huge object galaxies. However, most of the star simply fades.

In the direct center of the milky Way, scientists were able to identify the area that represents the final resting place for obsolete bodies. This “cemetery” emits a pretty powerful and unusual x-rays. According to the researchers, the source of such radiation are white dwarfs, i.e. ancient stars, which soon completely blacks out.

These “places of repose” for the stars account for approximately 12 parsecs. One parsec corresponds to 30, 8366 trillion kilometers.
