Somehow suddenly, unexpectedly and without a Declaration of war in the Network appeared the first trailer of the horror film “Ritual” (The Ritual). This adaptation is very cool and scary book from British author Adam Neville. We he is known for novels “Room 16” and “Judgment day.” The latest in the series “Masters of horror” not so long ago in the distance the guys from the “AST” in the face of the wording “Astrel-SPB”. In fact, they have on the public we came across the trailer. But even more important: it is officially confirmed that the rights to the book “Ritual” bought and soon we can expect the publication in Russian. Given the fact that a couple of weeks ago there was announced and “the House of small shadows”, Adam Neville, it seems, is becoming a leading author of the series “Masters of horror”.
What is this “Ritual”? Abstract novel from the site “Laboratory fiction” says:
To escape from everyday worries and problems, four College friends go camping in the Arctic wasteland of Sweden. At some point, in an attempt to cut the road, they turn into covered with centuries-old spruce forest and lose their desired direction, venturing deeper into the thicket. On the third day of wandering through the woods they come across a tree that brutally crucified some forest animal. Then they stumble upon an abandoned house attic which serves as a shelter for the effigy of some disgusting creatures, and dilapidated Church, the basement of which beaten bones of long-dead people. Very soon the friends discover that among these ancient trees, even death comes easy…
The first two thirds of the book is just beautiful. Forest, who wandered characters, for the unprepared person terrible in itself. And then there’s something coming on the heels… Neville turned a dark, disturbing and atmospheric story which, even if sags in the final part because of the questionable plot decisions, however, makes a very good impression. Fans of horror (especially the “forest” areas) is strongly recommended.
Responsible for the adaptation of David Bruckner, had a hand in “Monsters of the South” and V/H/S. worked Over the script Joe Barton (TV’s “People”), and the producers appear himself, Andy Serkis. In the caste involved Rafe spall (Black mirror), Rob James-Collier (“Shameless”), Arsher Ali (Doctor Who), Sam Troughton (“Midsomer murders”) and Paul Reid (“the Irish in London”).
The trailer looks British gloomy. It seems that the atmosphere of the book, the creators managed to capture. Give Cthulhu, the film does not disappoint. A full British release of the film will take place on 13 October 2017. We believe that “Ritual” and gets to our cinemas.
