Archaeologists have recreated the legendary Palmyra column

The exhibit was installed in Tsarskoye Selo.

Near St. Petersburg archaeologists found the model column Palmyra Zenobia, recreated with the help of 3D technology.

A copy of the famous columns Zenobia was restored by the 3D model, which employs specialists of the Institute of history of material culture Russian Academy of Sciences. Visitors of the Museum-reserve will be able to see the beauty of this artifact on the exhibition of “Palmyra in time and space.” Archaeologists introduced the model a copy to the Board of the Ministry of culture.

Pristine height of the column was 10 meters. It destroyed the “Islamic state.”* The reconstructed model is smaller than the original two times, but in all other parts repeats the ancient relic.

Scientists from St. Petersburg in September of 2016 visited Palmyra for fixing the degree of destruction and recreation of the city in the 3D model, including all architectural and landscape complexes, to after on the basis of this model, to regain lost over time, the beauty and grandeur.
