International arbitration court (Tribunal) in the Hague has launched a procedure for the consideration of the claim of the National joint stock company (NJSC) “Naftogaz of Ukraine” against Russian Federation (RF) regarding the loss of their assets in Crimea. This information is provided on the court’s website.
Earlier, the Russian government sent the court a letter in which he noted that the investment agreement between Russia and Ukraine “cannot serve as a basis for arbitration to settle” the lawsuit. And that the Kremlin “does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Tribunal in regard to the settlement of the lawsuit.”
Earlier it was reported that “Naftogaz of Ukraine” filed a lawsuit in the international court of justice against Russia regarding the indemnification of damages due to the loss of their assets located in the occupied territory of Crimea. We are talking about compensation for the cost of rigs and all assets are lost “Naftogaz of Ukraine” in the Crimea because of the Russian occupation, or those assets, which we temporarily do not have access. The defendant in the lawsuit is not a commercial organization, as Gazprom and the Russian government.
