Apple is developing its own graphics chip for the iPhone.
Apple has decided to refuse services Imagination Technologies and to move to its own GPU chips for smartphones.
Apple representatives informed the British manufacturer of graphics chips from Imagination Technologies that will refuse their services over the next two years.
In their statement, the representatives of the Imagination say that Apple “is working on a separate, independent graphics chip in order to control their products and to reduce their future dependence on technology Imagination”.
“Apple has not presented any evidence to support the assertion that the company will no longer require technology Imagination and will not require the Imagination of patents in the field of intellectual property and confidential information. This evidence was requested of the Imagination, but Apple refused to provide it”, – reads the statement of the British company.
Thus, as noted, we are waiting for or “fascinating patent war,” or a radical new design of the graphics chip GPU, so as to develop a new architecture of such devices without violating the intellectual property rights, quite difficult.
