The Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia accused the domestic division of the company Apple in the coordination of prices on some models of its iPhone smartphones. This was done to improve the conditions of competition, but this in our country is a violation of the antitrust laws.
The company “eppl Rus” violated the law on protection of competition by keeping prices 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Note that the list includes only older models of smartphones against yet modern iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus FAS similar violations. Also important is the fact that the case against Apple was filed in August of 2015, but at the time it featured only devices iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s, and now, as you can see, the list has expanded significantly.
Of course, Apple denies his guilt, and it is unknown how both parties intend to prove his innocence, and when there will be another hearing in the case. In case the fault of Apple will receive a confirmation, it will be forced to pay a fine in the amount of 5 million rubles. The exact amount of penalty will be determined by the court, but such amount is unlikely to be significant for such a large Corporation.
