Representatives of the British Swansea University reported that Antarctica separated the largest in the history of the research iceberg.
The iceberg that broke away, has an area of more U.S. state Delivery and weighs a trillion tons. Its thickness is 350 meters.
“The separation of the glacier occurred during the period from Monday, July 10 to Wednesday, July 12,” – said the scientists.

Representatives of Swansea University believe that the separation is not related to global warming and will not affect the increase in global sea level. This indicator may be affected by the shift of the ice shelves that hold back the ascent to the ocean part of the interior glaciers of Antarctica.
