Another street in Kyiv will become a pedestrian

The initiative aims to reduce the excessive traffic load of the street.

In Kiev on August 24, the section of the street Yaroslaviv Shaft between the streets and the Streltsy of Ivan Franko will be closed to car traffic, and motion on the part of Yaroslav’s Shaft from I. Franko street to Vladimir and on Zolotovorotskaya street will become two-way.

Presentation of a new pedestrian space and discussion of the initiative will be held on August 24 at 20:00 on Yaroslavov Val street between the streets of Musketeers and Ivan Franko, the press service of the KSCA.

The initiative aims to reduce the excessive traffic load of the streets, reduce congestion in the Central part of the city to give preference to the primary users of the street.

On the covered part of Yaroslav’s Shaft to enhance the local community at weekends with workshops and outreach events related to the life of the street and contemporary approaches to urban development. It is also planned to hold a few film screenings, the organization of the children’s program.

This experiment is part of a joint project to update Yaroslavov Val, Kiev city state administration, NGO change Agents and Analytical center CEDOS, with the assistance of the first Deputy Chairman of Kyiv city state administration Gennady FPGA.
