The world could force the Russian elite to go for an important step.
To deliver a crushing blow to Russia and to compel it to capitulate, the international community must take radical steps against Moscow is to isolate the Putin regime and strengthen for maximum economic sanctions.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Deputy Refat Chubarov.
According to him, pressure on Russia is, however, the world has not yet decided to implement them.
“First and foremost, it is an absolute strengthening of economic sanctions. Many experts speak about two main ways. The first is the need for an embargo on Russian energy. Today the budget of Russia rests on the multi-billion dollar profits from oil and gas supplies in Western European countries. Thus, the embargo would be a very effective mechanism. It would be a devastating blow to Russia. Provided, however, that this embargo would have lasted at least a year. Better – more,” – said Chubarov.
He noted that the second method implies a full isolation of the Russian politicians, including Russia’s leadership.
“And the second is complete isolation of Russia in the framework of the existing legal relations, the isolation of the Russian politicians, starting with Putin himself and Russia off from the banking and financial system of the world. The fact that the world is very rational. And in the Russian government, as far as vertically aligned whatever it was, there are many people for whom their own interests and, somewhat less, corporate interests are more important than what Putin thinks. And the world needs to create conditions so that not just the Russian government in General felt uncomfortable and that the part of the government’s goal was to remove Putin,” – said the Deputy.
He added that these steps would force the Russian elite to go for the removal of Putin from power.
