Amazon has filed in the Office of patents and trademarks United States patent application for the creation of speaking drones.
The decision will allow the drones to communicate with customers.
According to the patent, Amazon drones will be able to voice dialogue with the next person to request information and/or to answer questions. This solution will be useful not only for security purposes but for the convenience of customers. For example, talking drone you can ask to reschedule the delivery for another time.
In addition, the patent mentions that the drone will ask the person to identify themselves before giving him an order.
Amazon is not yet ready to ensure that delivery drones will pass flawlessly. Thus, the patent States that the drone may die, to crash into anything or get tangled in something. With the ability to say the drone will be able to ask a nearby person to perform required action: report the location of the drone, move it, to unravel, to send to the control center or to the place of recharge.
