Against Russia may impose additional sanctions if it refuses to comply with the final decision of the International court of justice. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, informs the press service of the head of state on Friday, April 21.
“In my opinion, also the uniqueness of this situation is that when the decision of the ICJ, it does not require any additional vote – neither the General Assembly nor the UN security Council,” – said Poroshenko.
According to him, the decision of direct action: it must be executed by any state member of the UN and for its failure will be penalties, which “will hurt any government which decides to ignore this decision.”
Poroshenko stressed that this should best represent the position of the Ukrainian state and to determine the state of the aggressor.
He noted that the international court of justice called on Russia to fully implement the Minsk agreements. Thus this makes the state a party to the Minsk agreements, not the mediator, as before Russia was.
