Virus recorded in 9 regions of the country.
In twenty settlements of Ukraine already has a quarantine imposed because of the spread of African swine fever (ASF).
Nine Ukrainian regions suffered deadly virus, namely, Transcarpathian, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk and Volyn regions. Here some farms have announced quarantines, therefore blocked the work of the farmers. Pigs are forbidden to move and sell, veterinarians confiscated all livestock and carried out in disinfection. After forty days on the farm to carry out additional checks and if the virus does not find that the enterprise can operate as usual, was told in the press service of the State service on safety of foodstuffs and consumer protection.
It should be noted that the African swine fever came to Ukraine in 2012 and since then, the pig industry only counts losses. In the civil service on issues of food safety and consumer protection claim that in 2017, outbreaks of ASF have become more frequent, recorded 104 cases, and in 2016 was 91 flash. If the same rate of ASF will be distributed by the state, by 2020 the economy will receive a damage of several billion hryvnias, besides pig meat much more expensive and Ukrainians will not buy it.
