Advisor to newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky, former Finance Minister Alexander danyluk held in Brussels meeting with Minister of energy of the USA Rick Perry, which discussed the strengthening of energy independence of Ukraine. About it reports a press-service Zelensky.
The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sandland, representatives of the U.S. Department of energy, counselor Zelensky Ruslan Ryaboshapka, Ukraine’s Ambassador in Belgium, the representative of Ukraine to the EU Nikolay Tochitskii.
“Ukraine and Europe as a whole the important role of the United States in diversifying energy supplies. This reduces political risk and reduces the cost of energy for consumers”, – said danyluk.
During the meeting they talked about attraction of investments to increase gas production in Ukraine, possible ways to supply of American liquefied natural gas, and reformed gas market in Ukraine, including Naftogaz.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, in particular improving the reliability and efficiency of existing nuclear units, as well as the development directions of the development and construction of small modular reactors.
