Acrid smoke and panic in the Poltava region are burning peat

Peat burning for three days.

Monday, 2 October, near the village of Strokachi of the Semenov district, Poltava region, third day continues to extinguish peat on a total area of 70 hectares.

To stop a fire, a burning peat dug and filled with plenty of water. With the help of tractors around hazardous areas plow the ground, so the fire did not spread.

It remains to eliminate the burning on the area of 68 hectares. the fire carries a detachment of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Poltava region, consisting of: 72 personnel and 33 vehicles.

Recall that on 29 September at 20:00, a fire in an open area of dry grass and reeds near the village Strokachi Semenovsky district, there was a burning of surface peat deposits on the area of 70 hectares.
