Motion #MeToo transforms the themes of films.
Hollywood Director Brian de Palma said that he wrote the script for “horror movie” based on the scandal with Harvey Weinstein.
Palma, who filmed a novel of Stephen king’s “Carrie” and crime film “Scarface” in the 1970-ies and 80-ies, said that the future scenario will be close to the actual events. It is reported BBC Ukraine.
A wave of indignation around the situation with Weinstein, who is accused of sexually abusing two women created a movement #MeToo that draws attention to the proliferation of sexual violence and harassment.
The producer said that in my own experience I heard many stories from people who are related to this scandal.
In his opinion, between the Director and the actor must trust, and his loss at any level through lust or greed “is the worst thing that can happen.”
But this is a horror movie with a sex abuser, and the story will take place in the film industry,– said the producer by the Western media.
In addition, de Palma said that movement #MeToo transforms the themes of films and the process of their production.
“It will be interesting to see when women begin to control, from the aesthetic point of view, how it should happen,” – said the producer.
