Vladimir Golyshev has told, should Ukraine introduce a visa regime with Russia.
The decision on introduction of visa regime with the Russian Federation should be taken by the leadership of Ukraine is no less appropriate moment than it did with the decision to ban the Russian postal services and social networks; the price of this solution also needs to be carefully calculated.
This opinion was expressed by the Russian writer, blogger and analyst Vladimir Golyshev.
Answering the question whether Ukraine to introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation, he said: “Measures should be considered from the point of view, they will cause damage or will benefit.” Golyshev recalled that “in the current situation, the ongoing hybrid war Russia is not a safe country for Ukraine and is a state, bearing the threat,” therefore, “in principle, the visa regime can be called as natural and justified.
At the same time, he also reminded that a large number of citizens of Ukraine have relatives in Russia or working there. “Entire industries exist due to the unimpeded contacts”.
However, the writer drew attention at the time to ban on Russian social networks and the evolution of reactions to this decision by the Ukrainians. “Initially it looked like a terrible, terrible measure.” At the same time unhappy they were, primarily, those for whom “it was either a source of income, or the usual source of communication, or the usual source of obtaining services.” “Their tears – how much do they weigh? They weigh nothing. It’s dry and they don’t have to worry” – says Golyshev.
He called this measure not only “absolutely useful”, but also adopted in a surprisingly opportune moment. “Two landmark events: the successful conclusion of the “Eurovision” – it is at this point the attitude to Ukraine in Europe were the most positive. And the second point – when Europe, through its senior management has testified under cameras that Ukraine is a civilized European state, and that Europe’s ties with the Ukraine hope. Golyshev has not excluded that in the case of the visa regime with Russia may repeat the same story. “Of course, some time will stand smoke yoke. But the foam went, and what we get in the body? I can’t count. Order in Ukraine is the President, to calculate everything”.
However, he is convinced that the visa regime can be entered at the appropriate time, “if all the costs will be recognized as tolerable”.
