Known Ukrainian writer Yuriy Andrukhovych received the prestigious literary award Vilenica international literary festival, which takes place in Slovenia.
This was announced by the national peers Andrukhovych Andriy Lyubka on his Facebook page.
“Shock! Yuri Andrukhovych has reached the bottom! That is, today he’s in a Slovenian cave vilenica, or at a depth of 72 meters received Central European literary award Vilenica, which was previously received Kundera, Esterhazy, Herbert, ventslova and other deserves,” he wrote.

By the way, in the context of the same festival another prize – in the form of creative scholarship of the Central European initiative – got myself Platanthera. Note that this literary award is presented each year to writers in Eastern and Central Europe at the international literary festival in the karst cave of vilenica, or in the West of Slovenia, near Trieste. The award was established by the Slovene writers Union in 1986.
