A repeat offender killed a woman and set fire to her apartment to cover his tracks.
The press service of the Prosecutor of the Sumy area reported about the tragedy that happened on 11 September, about 20:00. 61-the summer inhabitant of Konotop in the morning came to visit his friend. During the day they drank alcoholic beverages.
In the evening between the guest and the owner of the apartment started the conflict and mutual insults. The man got angry, grabbed a knife and repeatedly struck a 60-year-old woman. As a result, from the received traumas the victim died on the spot. Realizing this, the attacker decided that I needed to cover up the traces of his crime. To do this he set fire to bedding, on which lay the body of the deceased, and he left the apartment.
However, the offender was not far away from the house and watched the fire. To a scene there arrived police officers and firefighters. Exactly, law enforcement officials noticed odd behavior observed on the part of men. He was arrested, but the culprit is not immediately admitted his guilt, but only after he found a bloody knife, which he tried to throw it away.
As the head of Konotop local Prosecutor’s office: “currently, the man handed a notification on suspicion, he was charged with premeditated murder (paragraph 1 of article 115 of the criminal code of Ukraine), at the request of the Prosecutor’s office he was taken into custody because 10 years of his life he spent in prison for committing similar crimes”.
