A terrible tragedy in children’s camp of Odessa: fresh details

The police have been notified about suspicion of a Director and officer of the camp.

The police detained the Director of children’s camp “Victoria” Petros Sarkisyan.

This was announced by the chief of the national police in the Odessa region General Dmitry Golovin on his page in Facebook.

He said that Sargsyan is suspected of violation of fire safety rules. The detention was carried out in accordance with article 208 of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

“Report, according to article 208 of the criminal procedure code detained the Director of children’s camp “Victoria”, as a direct officer who is personally responsible for the activities of this institution. A measure of restraint the court will decide”, – he wrote.

In addition, according to the adviser of the head of national police Ruslan Forostyak of suspicion also notified the person responsible for fire safety.

“Tonight the suspicion is declared two officials of a children’s institution, is a Director and responsible for fire safety, these persons are detained as article 208 criminal procedure code, the measure of restraint by a court decision”, – he wrote in Facebook.

In turn, the interior Ministry stressed that the investigation into the deaths of children in a camp “Victoria” will be conducted objectively and impartially and the perpetrators will receive appropriate punishment.

“At the same time, we urge everyone not to speculate on the tragic events and do not use human misery in the realization of political ambitions. Show humanity and compassion to the families who have lost the most precious – children”, – stated in the message.
