At least six tourists died in a climbing volcano, Acatenango in Guatemala due to the dramatically lower air temperature, report rescue services of the country.
According to rescuers, all on the volcano went two tour groups. Among the victims were two athletes from the national athletics Association of Guatemala, Jaheira Roldan and Lucia Sanchez. While aware of two people rescued, operation with the local rescue services continues.
Portal Prensa Libre notes that the trip participants went to the mountain on Saturday morning, later came a strong wind and the temperature plummeted. The wind blew off the established tourist tents, so they couldn’t even shelter from the weather.
