Iraqi security forces used tear gas and rubber bullets against demonstrators who took to the streets of Baghdad, demanding to reform the election system.
The demonstrators tried to cross the bridge Gamhariya, security forces used tear gas to stop them, but they went,” said a senior police official.
The protest began peacefully, several speakers addressed the large crowd in Tahrir square, but later some of the demonstrators broke away from the crowd and tried to break through the cordon of law enforcement that guards the main road in the government “green zone” of Baghdad.
According to police, at least 11 protesters were injured by rubber bullets and suffered from tear gas.
