After the results of the referendum on moving to a presidential Republic in Turkey, thousands of people took to the streets of Istanbul on a spontaneous protest.
According to the BBC, residents of several districts of Istanbul held an unusual protest – they beat pots and pans, leaning from the Windows of their homes.
As reported by Reuters, these protests were reported in at least four districts of the city. A small group of protesters also took to the streets.
The three largest Turkish cities, including Istanbul, according to preliminary data, voted against the changes.
The result of Sunday’s vote, which is called a turning point in the country’s history, Turkey was transformed from a parliamentary into a presidential Republic.
