On the Indonesian island of Sulawesi earthquake of magnitude 6.6, causing panic among the local population.
“A powerful earthquake occurred in the Southeast of the Indonesian city of Palu on the island of Sulawesi”, – stated in the message.
As noted, initially, the USGS estimated the quake at 6.9, but later, the magnitude was reduced to 6.6.
The epicenter was 79 km South-East of the city of Palu.
The quake lasted about 20 seconds and caused panic among the population.
