O’brien informed the security Council of the USA that now need to make global efforts to prevent mass extinction of people from hunger and disease.
In particular, a terrible situation now exists in Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and North-Eastern Nigeria. These countries need immediate help.

He added that the largest humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where two thirds of the population (18.8 million people) need help, this is 3 million more than in January.
