A forest fire in California: state of emergency declared

Evacuated about 27 thousand inhabitants.

“I, Edmund J. Brown, Governor of California … declare a state of emergency in Ventura County,” reads the statement of the Governor.

Earlier the fire service Ventura County reported that the flames spread over an area of about 180 sq. km. Around 27 thousand inhabitants of eight thousand homes were evacuated in southern California where strong forest fire destroyed 150 buildings.

Electricity supply company Southern California Edison stated that without light in the region left more than 260 thousands users: 180 thousand in Ventura County and 83 thousand in the County of Santa Barbara.

According to the latest data, the victims of the fires in California began to 43 people, the amount of damage exceeded $ 3.3 billion.
