19 people died in the crash in Myanmar: a bus fell into a gorge

Police believe the driver lost control due to brake failure.

At least 19 people were killed and more than 20 injured after a bus fell into a gorge in the East of Myanmar.

At the time of the incident, which occurred near the town of Myawadi on Friday, the bus was carrying 40 passengers, the Agency said.

“Nineteen people died, 21 more were wounded…” — said the chief of staff Karen Lin Kyi (Kyi Lin), where the accident occurred.

Police believe the driver lost control due to brake failure, he said. The victims were taken to nearby hospitals.
