About 100 houses-monuments in Kiev appeared under the threat of liquidation, according to social activist Elena Eskina.
“As a rule, these houses are deliberately brought to destruction by unscrupulous owners (including arson and destruction of walls) for the construction in their place, another high-rise buildings. In my registry, about 100 such houses,” – said Elena Eskina.
At risk, in particular, are “House with snakes and chestnuts” on Big Zhitomir, 32, “Manor Tereshchenko” on Blvd. Shevchenko, 34, “Lace house Bradman” B. Khmelnitsky street, 10, “house of the merchant of Vertiporoh” on Mezhigorskaya St., 33/19, “Estate of merchant Novikov,” on the street, 28/12.
According to Elena Eskinol, law enforcement and city authorities do not pay attention to such facts, “contributing to the prosperity of corruption schemes and the destruction of our cultural heritage.”
